PRACTICE PHILOSOPHYMy goal is to give patients the best possible care by blending modern evidenced-based practices with common sense and realistic goals. I believe in patient autonomy, and I encourage my patients to take an active role in their health. Good health begins with a healthy lifestyle.SCOPE OF PRACTICEI provide primary care for people of all ages, from newborns to seniors. This includes well and sick care, physical exams, urgent care, and management of chronic illnesses. If hospital services are necessary, I admit patients to Memorial Mission and Saint Joseph Hospitals. Patients may occasionally meet medical students from UNC and Duke, as I teach Family Medicine skills to students on rotation in my office.PROCEDURESIn the office I offer EKG, lung spirometry, skin biopsies and cryotherapy, vaccinations, casting and splinting, pap smears, and other common procedures. My staff can draw labs to be processed locally. For procedures that I do not offer, I refer patients to the excellent panel of specialists in Asheville.INSURANCEWe accept most private insurance plans, and self-paying patients.
